TMS/TMSpro Frequently Asked Questions
TMS and TMSpro have been in active usage by our customers since 2003. Following are a few of the frequent questions we are asked by users. We hope the answers are useful to you and enhance your experience with our products.
Q: My service contract expired long ago.
Can I still renew service?
A: Yes. Purchase of a service contract will initiate one year
of service starting from the date payment is processed. Shortly
after your purchase, you will receive a link to download the latest
revision.
Q: Can I import my employee list rather
than enter each employee separately?
A: Yes, CQS can import your current data for you as part of our
service. Contact us via email with your request and we will provide
instructions for the excel formats we will need to complete the
import for you.
Q: When a new employee is hired, I have
to open numerous classes to enter their initial training. Is
there an easier way to complete this task that reduces data entry?
A: This is the only option available in TMS. TMSpro has the
additional functionality to build an employee orientation roster
that lists all the training they require. Once this
multi-specification roster is completed, the completed training is
entered into the system by simply adding
the date completed on the orientation form; the system creates
all the required classes for you.
Q: I already have training records in
Excel/Word format. Do I have enter all the history data manually to
get started.?
A: CQS can import all your current history records for you from your current system. Please contact
CQS with your requirements and the format of your current data for an
evaluation of this option. Data import services are provided at on a
per hour basis.
Q: I have Windows 7 with Access 2010.
Will TMS and TMSpro work with my configuration?
A: Yes. We have customers running TMS and TMSpro
without any issues.
Q: I understand that TMS and TMSpro were
developed with Access 2003. Why?
A: We are maintaining our products with Access 2003 to provide
service to a broad customer base. Both TMS and TMSpro are fully
functional on systems with Access 2007 and Access 2010
Q: I do not have Access installed on my
system? Can I still use TMS/TMSpro training records management systems?
A: Yes. When purchased, we provide an option to download our product
with a "Run Time" version of Access 2003. This allows fully
capability of our databases without the user having to upgrade their
system. This is also true if you are still an Access 97 user;
downloading the application with "Run Time" Access will install Access
2003 with the application.
Q: I have 15 users across multiple
shifts. Do I need to purchase a 25 user license to support my
organization?
A: TMS and TMSpro use concurrent licensing. For example, you
could have 15 users installed on a 5 user system; the system will
only allow 5 users to be active at once. When a user exits the
application, another user may log on.
Q: When I try to install an update, the process works
fine but the application is still at the old rev?
A: This is the result of new security features added to Windows 7.
To install and update, you must be an administrator for the PC and
your "User Account Control" (UAC) must to set to "Never Notify"
during the upgrade process. Once the upgrade has been
installed, you can return to your standard settings.
